Flutter

Hooray, my poem “English Cynic” is up at Flutter!  It’s truly a lovely magazine, and I enjoy reading it.  This is a poem that I wrote in high school, and it’s nice to have it out.

In other news, Postcards from… and Southern Gothic have both permanently closed.  This makes me sad, but that’s the way life goes.  The last post on Southern Gothic particularly made me ponder.  Do I think that short story as a form is dying out?  I would like to say no, that there are a lot of people still reading.  But I definitely admit that I don’t think it’s as much as they used to.  I love listening to short stories on podcasts, for example.  I love to hear other people read to me, and a lot of you know that I enjoy reading to other people.  Still, there’s nothing like reading a story for yourself, and I hope we don’t lose that.  Let’s turn off the TV every now and then, yeah?

Anyway.  Flutter.  http://www.freewebs.com/rarepetal/index.htm
