“Be Mysterious: Writers in Masks” Features Cate Gardner

Catherine J Gardner would much prefer you called her Cate, and is in the process of dropping the J and other extraneous letters. She is a member of the SFWA (whispers the words associate member and hopes you didn’t hear it) and her short stories can be found in Fantasy Magazine, Necrotic Tissue, Emerald Tales and the anthologies, Dead Souls, Malpractice and Wolfsongs. She’s a writer of weird things and claims to be scary only in ink (those looking at the above photograph may disagree). Her weirdest offering to date is ‘The Sour Aftertaste of Olive Lemon’, a chapbook that sold out within 7 weeks of its release. She lives in Liverpool with the Wolf Dude and during working hours, Cate transforms into a phone-answering robot. She hopes one day to be a real girl.

If you choose to stalk her, Cate can be found rambling at twitter.com/categardner or at her wondrous blog, http://fright-fest.blogspot.com. She has stories forthcoming in Postscripts, Space and Time and hopes one day this century to have a novel published.

  1. Cool photo. I dare say red is your color. And here I thought because of your blog’s color scheme, green was your color. πŸ™‚

  2. “The opera gloves clinched it for me. Yup.”

Those aren’t gloves. Cate just got done removing body parts and forgot to wash.

BTW, Cate, can I be your pendant?

  3. Super sweet!

You need to replace all other avatars with this photo – simply brilliant.

God I need to win Lotto – I need a trip to Liverpool…
