Arterial Boom Welcomes Jennifer Loring!

I’m delighted to announce our next author in the Arterial Bloom lineup! Jennifer Loring‘s story “What Remained of Her” is an unflinching staring contest between the hunters and the hunted. Her story bares its teeth and makes a strong, timely statement about society’s value of women. I couldn’t get it out of my head, and I feel so privileged to publish it.

Her middle-aged neighbor knelt in his front yard with a hacksaw, attacking fallen branches from a recent storm. He was proficient, focused, and she wondered what else that saw had cut through. Whose basement was hiding the secret. The rumors had sprung up like weeds as soon as the case broke—sex rings, orgies, corruption in the highest echelons of county law enforcement and government. But not here. -“What Remained of Her” by Jennifer Loring.

Jennifer Loring’s short fiction has been published widely both online and in print, appearing alongside Graham Masterton, Joe R. Lansdale, Elizabeth Massie, Ramsey Campbell, Kealan Patrick Burke, Steve Rasnic Tem, and Clive Barker. She holds an MFA in Writing Popular Fiction with a concentration in horror fiction and is currently working toward her PhD in Creative Writing. Jenn lives with her husband in Philadelphia, PA, where they are owned by a turtle and two basset hounds.

Jennifer Loring joins authors Ken Liu, Jimmy Bernard, Carina Bissett, Linda J. Marshall, Dino Parenti, and Armand Rosamilia in the Arterial Bloom horror anthology.

One Comment on “Arterial Boom Welcomes Jennifer Loring!”

  1. You are doing such a good job highlighting these authors/stories. I am usually a horror novel reader more than a short story reader, but I am excited to read Arterial Bloom!
