This is one of my favorite stories of all time. I refer you to “Flowers”, published by a gorgeous magazine called Blueprint Review.
Please read and enjoy. May life mend your broken heart.

Amazing!!
This is stunning. STUNNING, I say.
Well done. Love and sacrifice.
Wow. Love it!!
Happy Valentine’s Day, Mercedes!!
You, my dear, are made of awesome. That is all.
What an amazing and awesome story! You, of course, made me cry. I am such a sap that way. Mercedes you are a truly gifted writer. I feel honored to see bits of your stories shared with me.
Hugs,
Ardee-ann
This story is beautifully crafted, and poetic, so of course it makes me think of the William Carlos Williams poem, “Asphodel, That Greeny Flower,” with its oh-so-quotable lines, including:
It is difficult
to get the news from poems
yet men die miserably every day
for lack
of what is found there.
I would say the same of poignant fiction.
Oh, I saw this over at Shock Totem and commented there as well. Beautiful, tragic story. Loved it.
Beautiful……..
