This is one of my favorite paintings. It was difficult and monotone and I wasn’t used to doing such sharp edges, but I’m really proud of it. It’s a watercolor I painted last year.
I decided it was time to pull it out of the dark box it was stuffed in and frame it. It’s hanging in a place of honor on my beautiful blood-red walls, and I can’t tell you how happy it makes me.
What do you have hanging in your house? What makes your heart go DING?

I love this painting! Watercolor is so hard, and watercolor monotone is even harder. You’re so talented!
I have four paintings by an artist in Charleston named Marcella Hair (expressive, textured stuff with abstracted figures), a landscape by a Virginia artist named TJ Liston, four of my own watercolors (three florals and a Christmas abstract), and three of my daughter’s watercolors from various ages in her life (because kids’ paintings are THE BEST and make my heart go DING).
Kids’ pictures really are the best! There’s so much honesty and quirk to them. <3
Wow, that’s very cool, I can see why you like it so much.
I have a couple of prints of Clive Barker’s Tarrie Cats (http://www.solitarymindset.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/tarriecats.jpg) I’m a huge fan of his writing and they act as a bit of encouragement to get my own stories down.
That is seriously cool!
