Well, this is belated! Because December has just been a month or a day or a year or four years. Who even knows? 2020 time has held no logic for me.
Anyway! I told you about my super special awesome bookclub (The Book Democracy Book Club) where we are given a bingo card and random reading prompts. You read the book and a mod gives it a look over before checking off your box. It gives me something to look forward to every month, and helps me prioritize my massive TBR (To Be Read) pile.
One book gets to pull double duty and count for it’s prompt AND the free space.
November’s reads were:
The Grip of It by Jac Jemc (Audiobook)
Paris in the Springtime by Susan Aylworth (Author name starts with “A”)
The Five by Hallie Rubenhold (Fandom Related and Free Space)
Black Dahlia Avenger by Steve Hodel (Involving Travel)
The Vanishing Stair by Maureen Johnson (Family members present)
Radium Girls by Amanda Gowin (Makes you grateful)
Bird by Bird by Anne Lamott (Bird on the cover)
The Afterlife of Holly Chase by Cynthia Hand (Between 300-500 pages)
My favorite read of the month was Radium Girls by Amanda Gowin. This isn’t the similarly titled book about the women working with radium. This is a beautiful, surprising experimental collection of short stories, and it was divine. Check out my reviews on these books at Goodreads. Happy reading!
