“Fracture” Won the Bram Stoker Award!

My friends! I’m so delighted to share that my short story “Fracture” won the Bram Stoker Award for Superior Achievement in Short Fiction!

I am over the moon. What does this mean? The Bram Stoker Awards are considered the Oscars of horror. It means that something I wrote, a beautiful little story about love, loss, and healing (but not always in the way you’d expect) took a major award. It touched my peers. It brought out emotion. You always write for yourself, but this is validation. I’m not screaming into the void.

The awards took place at Stokercon in Pittsburg, and I wasn’t able to attend. I was busy decorating for a teen dance when my phone suddenly blew up with the news. So many people I love sent me congratulations and good wishes! Maybe there were tears. I’ll never tell. 😉

If you want to see a list of the wonderful nominees, please look here.  The complete list of winners is here. And if you would like to read my story about a girl made of glass, you can read it here at Weird Little Worlds.

Thank you, my friends. I love the horror genre. I love writing. Thank you for reading stories from a dark little girl. Much love to you!
