I was so thrilled when Marge Simon asked me if I’d write a column for her Blood and Spades: Poets of the Dark Side column. Blood and Spades runs in the Horror Writers Association’s Newsletter, which goes out to all of the members. She allowed me to talk about my feelings on poetry, and ran my article titled “Poetry as Radium: Make the Horror Shine.” I hope you swing by to give it a read!
Yardley is a whimsical dark fantasist, who wears stilettos, red lipstick, and poisonous flowers in her hair. She is the author of Beautiful Sorrows, the Stabby Award-winning Apocalyptic Montessa and Nuclear Lulu: A Tale of Atomic Love, Pretty Little Dead Girls: A Novel of Murder and Whimsy, Detritus in Love, and Nameless. She recently won the prestigious Bram Stoker Award® for her story “Little Dead Red” and was a Bram Stoker Award nominee for her short story “Loving You Darkly.” Mercedes lives and creates in Las Vegas. I read your article and poems, an excellent read.
Thank you so much! I really enjoyed writing that. 🙂
