In Which I Discover, To My Horror, That I Don’t Read Books

In January I decided that I wanted to read a book a week. It shouldn’t be a difficult thing.  After all, I live to read.  I can knock a book out fairly quickly. And what author won’t improve their craft by reading, says I? So 52 books in a year it was. Well, December is here and my book count is … Read More

The Remix. Or, With Just A Little Help From My Friends

You all know that KM Walton is pretty much my hero.  Tenacious, savvy, and extremely deserving of her success.  Most of you also know that I lost a challenge to her and so I wrote her a song.  Did you know that song has a remix? Well, it does.  Thank you, Mason.  The world would weep without you. Enjoy.

Hey, I’m on the NaNoWriMo Blog!

And we’re dancing.  What do you think about them apples?  I’m on the far right, black dress, black hair and red belt.  My friend Laura J. Hickman is front and center with the red sleeves.  You can read the article here.  Look ma, we’re famous!

RIP Ruby Woo

Brothers and Sisters, we have gathered together this day to celebrate the passing of the illustrious Ruby Woo red lipstick.  Alas, we hardly knew ye.  But Tiny Daughter, the floor, wall, and mirror apparently knew ye quite well.  Rest in peace.

“Stalk Me,” She Says. Well, Okay!

She’s 32 years old, 5’6″, and has what she calls a “mexi-fro”. She’s also gorgeous as all get out and swears like a sailor. Her daughter is dating an older man. (He’s five.) She wrote reviews for baby gooroo and is frustrated at not being able to lose the baby weight. Her husband has Celiac Disease and they also keep her … Read More

Is It Snowing?!

Yes, yes it is.  On my blog, anyway.  Las Vegas is a different story.  I just went outside wearing a light jacket.  Here we’re forced to build snowmen out of old liquor receipts and cocaine. Or, in the case of my family, cotton balls and powdered sugar.  We’re very PG. Happy December, everybody! 😀

Organizing Your Time and (Writing) Life

We are constantly busy.  Insanely busy.  I suppose that I’d rather be busy than bored, but sometimes it becomes overwhelming.  I can’t tell you how many times my husband has found me hiding under a blanket because I just need five minutes to regroup.  But I’ve finally figured out a schedule that works for me. Writing comes with its own … Read More

When We Fell In Love

The very gracious Dennis Haritou from Three Guys One Book reviewed my Hint Fiction story on their site.  (Hee hee, he said “voyeur”!) He invited me to contribute an essay to their wonderful When We Fell In Love series, and I have to tell you that I was deeply honored and also a little bit horrified.  If you want luscious, thought-provoking … Read More

In Which I Obsess Over Star Candies

Tonight was The Night of Writing Dangerously, and it was super fantastic! First, I have two pics!  Number one: I finally had my first Shirley Temple with extra cherries, the official assassin’s drink.  It was delicious. Yes, I’m holding two. Don’t judge me.  😉 And number two: I was utterly charmed by these adorable star candies! Did anybody else think Spirited Away and … Read More
